What is Rear Projection Screen?

Comparing to traditional front projection display, rear projection display is a relatively new visualization technology. Rear projection screen has the advantages of high contrast, high uniformity, high resolution, and high ambient light proof.

The visualization of rear projection display is created by placing the projector in the back of the screen. The image is projected to the screen from the back. This way it can provide far better performance in resisting ambient light interference, and excellent contrast. No matter indoor or outdoor, superb image quality can be maintained.

What type of application is suitable for rear projection?

Wherever needs high image quality big-sized screen. For example, Stadium, Convention Center, Central control room, Station, Home Theater, etc.

What is Fresnel lens?

A Fresnel lens (pronounced as fray-NELL) is a type of lens developed by French physicist Augustin-Jean Fresnel. The original design is for lighthouses. Through this design lens of larger clear aperture can be built. Comparing to traditional lens, the major advantage are shorter focal length, lesser material, and lesser weight and size. As Fresnel lens is thinner, the lighthouse can transmit more light and visible from longer distance.

Why use Fresnel lens?

Comparing to traditional lens, Fresnel lens has several advantages: Short focal length, more light transmitted, lesser weight, lesser material and easier to construct bigger concentrator device.

Any other future application for Fresnel lens?

Solar energy, stage lighting, optical application, optical screens, etc.

What is Lenticular lens?

Lenticular lens is a series of cylindrical pattern molded in a plastic substrate. The cylinclrical pattern is an array of identical convex lenses olesigned to focus light onto the image. Suitable for different types of optical application.

Why use Lenticular lens?

The use of Lenticular lens is to readjust the viewing angle and guide the light going through certain range and meet different requirement for application. For rear projection screen, the purpose is to increase the brightness of image by focusing more light into a horizontal beam and allow less light to escape above and below the plane of the viewer.

What is Holo?

Comparing the general rear projection screen, the major difference is the transparency. Holo screen can be seen through with better background visibility. It is suitable for retail store window display and can be designed as part of the in-room decoration.
